In 2019, Methods Machine Tools announced their own line of machining centers that perfectly complemented the machine tool lines they already offer. It wasn’t so long after that Methods announced the MB 450U Simultaneous 5-Axis Bridge- Type Machining Center.
Methods Machining Centers are built in collaboration with Litz Hitech Corp combining years of engineering and service experience. The MB 450U is a testament to it. The robust bridge-type construction with thermal compensation and weight of 13,250 lbs coupled with Heidenhain linear scales in the X/Y/Z axes make this an exceptional machine.
With the FANUC 31i-MB5 control, this machine can perform full five-axis precision machining which reduces the need for multiple setups for challenging parts. The partnership with FANUC makes Methods the only company to offer machines from Taiwan with simultaneous 5-axis. Additional features include, 15,000 RPM Big Plus, 40-Taper Spindle with air-oil lubrication and a spindle chiller for longevity. Travel is 15.7” on the X-axis and 13.8” on the Y and Z axes. The B-axis has -50°~ +110° tilting capability and the rotary C-axis has a 360° rotation angle.
Our team at OptiPro is excited to add in the MB 450U into our showroom and to have it on display for our annual Technology Open House, June 8th & 9th. As we draw closer to the event, we will be featuring new additions to our showroom.
